Creating your Beer Garden

Everyone will have different ideas about what makes the perfect beer garden, but lets take a look at some of the top considerations to make and some key items you may want to include in your beer garden.

Tables and Seating

One of the most important things you need in your beer garden is somewhere to sit. The choice of tables and seating is completely up to you but some common choices include picnic benches which allow a few people to sit around together. If you are keen for DIY you could try your hand at making your own! Alternatively, you could purchase some of your favourite garden furniture whether that be small tables and chairs or outdoor sofa’s. For extra seating, consider adding some beanbags or floor cushions – just make sure to put them away when it rains!

No beer garden is complete without some decorations. Again, this completely depends on the style of your beer garden. Some good options are putting some flower pots on the tables, hanging fairy lights or even making your own coasters.

Food and Drink

Perhaps the most important thing you need to consider is food and drink! You don’t have to only serve beer in your beer garden, if you are having people round to enjoy your new garden space make sure to get in plenty of soft drinks as well as alcoholic beverages for those who prefer not to drink and consider whether you’ll be putting on a spread or some traditional pub snacks.

It is important to consider how you’ll keep the drinks cool in the heat. On one hand you could leave the drinks in the fridge inside, but it may get tiring to have to constantly go inside to get more drinks for everyone. Why not create your own ice bucket using an old plant pot or wheelbarrow and keep the cool drinks to hand?
